The Network Rail Approved VoidMate was the star of the show for Datum at Rail Live.

Rail Live 2017 is a two-day exhibition is the largest outdoor rail show in Europe and attracts thousands of visitors from around the UK and beyond.
This year the event was held just days after Datum’s VoidMate was given Network Rail approval, and the demand for the track void monitoring system was clear.
Datum CEO Rory O’Rourke said: “Rail Live is a great opportunity to be able to showcase our range of products and services and connect with clients, old and new.
“There was a huge amount of interest in the VoidMate and our stand provided the perfect opportunity to demonstrate how it works, and just how easy it is to fit to the track.
“Our track voiding system can be connected to the track in around 20 seconds saving time, money and making the whole process so much safer as it means, once fitted, engineers do not need to go onto the track.
“The RailtempMate, which measures critical rail temperature, has been a huge success and engineers are now used to dealing with our technology and recognise the benefits.
“We pride ourselves at Datum at developing solutions for the rail industry to problems that, they might not even know exists – or if they do, have no idea how to combat. The RailtempMate and VoidMate are two terrific examples.”
The VoidMate was granted Network Rail approval days before Rail Live 2017. It provides Permanent Way manages with continuous access to dynamic track void readings.
It is cable free, compact, portable and highly durable and makes it easier and more efficient to maintain track stability.
The two-day event, held in sweltering conditions, allowed the Datum team were able to demonstrate the full range of products and services designed for the rail industry.
