DATUM’s manufacturing facility and workshop in Bury was submerged in 3 feet of water on Boxing Day after floods engulfed Greater Manchester over the festive weekend. Substantial damage was caused to the industrial unit, vehicles and other surrounding nearby businesses.
Rivers across the region burst their banks with many roads closed after torrential rain fell on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Flood warnings were enforced and hundreds of homes were left without power.
Staff, family and friends volunteered between Christmas and New Year to help clean up and restore DATUM’s manufacturing facility and workshop to a condition that enabled staff to return to work the following week.
DATUM would like to thank all the volunteers who gave up their time, showed their support and worked so hard to clean up the unit following the disastrous floods. A huge team effort
