Datum will support the EPC-UK 2016 Charity Golf Day.
The Lancashire based structural and monitoring experts have agreed to sponsor a hole at the hugely popular event hosted at the McDonald Portal Hotel and Spa in Cheshire.
More than £4,000 was raised in 2015 for the Hand on Heart charity and this years event promises to be a record-breaker.
Hand On Heart
Hand on Heart work to prevent the deaths of young people who die due to sudden cardiac arrest, or SCA. It is claimed more than 270 children die of SCA every year in the UK.
The charity aim to raise awareness of SCA in young people, educate young people and teaching staff with regard to basic life support training and provide defibrillators to schools.
Datum CEO Rory O’Rourke said: “Hand on Heart do fantastic work, providing a really important service that hopefully will help to save more young peoples life.
“Through education and awareness we can try to prevent such tragedy and of course the availability of defibrillators will help to save youngsters who are overcome without warning.
“Unfortunately we can’t play at the event this year due to commitments overseas but we are delighted to sponsor a hole and hopefully play a small part in supporting the day.
“We hope everyone has a great day but more importantly raises more money for a fantastic cause.”
The event will be hosted by the McDonald Portal Hotel and Spa on Thursday September 8th with the day beginning with a traditional coffee and bacon rolls followed by an 18-hole Texas Scramble.
More than 60 golfers will complete for the individual, team, ‘nearest-the-pin’ and ‘longest drive’ competitions before enjoying a three-course dinner and presentation.
Ben Williams, MD of EPC-UK, said: “It is our goal here at EPC-UK to make all schools heart safe, and by competing in our annual golf day, friends and associates are benefiting this vital cause, whilst enjoying spirited, sporting camaraderie.”
