Following the success of the recent London running of the British Drilling Association’s (BDA) seminar “What are the Risk of Rising Complacency about Geotechnics”, Datum is pleased to announced that Rory O’Rourke of Datum, will be speaking at its Manchester event, along with speakers from Highways England; Arup and AECOM.
Tackling similar issues, but with a Northern perspective, the Manchester seminar will take place on 26th February 2020, at the Trafford Suite at the Manchester United Football Club, Old Trafford, Manchester. Its core focus is an examination of whether the geotechnical sector has become a victim of its own success; with recent advances in approach and techniques bringing many benefits, it could be all too easy to assume this has eliminated all the potential ground risks, which could lead to complacency.
The diverse speaker line-up will discuss this issue from many directions, using real-world examples. Rory’s presentation will discuss monitoring, specifically how monitoring can provide forensic and immediate answers, to ensure project progress is uninterrupted.
A must-attend event, the BDA Seminar costs just £75 for BDA members and £100 to non-members. Further information will be published on the BDA website shortly – www.britishdrillingassociation.co.uk/bda-events
